LAB sindikatuarentzat ohore bat da Munduko Soindikatu Federazioaren 17. kongresuan egotea.
Decia en mi idioma, Euskera, que es un honor para LAB estar presentes en este 17. Congreso de la FSM. Quiero agradecer a todas y todos los milintantes de COSATU y de la FSM que hacen posible este Congreso, que será un nuevo hito para la unidad de la clase trabajadora, el internacionalismo solidario y el sindicalismo de confrontación a nivel del mundo.
Es un honor estar presente en este Congreso, en este bello continente. En un heroico país, Sudáfrica, que lucho con ahínco y fortaleza para derrocar el apartheid. Lucha que ha sido y es referente, guia en la lucha en el paaís Vasco.
Yo vengo de un pequeño país, que sigue luchando por su independencia y por la justicia social, por la liberación de toda explotación. Y porque luchamos sufrimos de represión, encarcelamientos y tortura. En estos momentos en Euskal Herria tenemos unos 500 luchadores y luchadoras en las cárceles.
No puedo continuar sin recordar a todos los compañeros y compañeras que debido a su lucha están encarcelados. Muchos de ellos querrían estar aquí pero no pueden porque están secuestrados por el capital.
Quiero recordar a Julia Amparo Lotan, de Guatemala; a Huber Ballesteros de Colombia, Ruben Rialbe de Paraguay, Oscar Lopez de Puerto Rico. Nahuel y Alfons del Estado Español, Sidil del Sindicato de Manteros de Barcelona y Andres Bodalo del Sindicato Andaluz de Trabajadores.
Mis recuerdos también para Mumia abu Jamal y Leonard Peltier; a los prisioneros de Palestina, a los luchadores de Sahara, a los corsos, a los catalanes.
Y como no, mi recuerdo y saludo al exsecretario de nuestro sindicato, LAB, Rafa Diez Usabiaga preso desde octubre 2009, desde 7 años por el Estado Español en la carcel de Santoña. Rafa Diez Usabiaga fue pieza clave en nuestra afiliación en la FSM. El materializo nuestra afiliación en el Congreso de la Habana.
El camarada George Mavrikos ha presentado el informe de las acciones de la FSM durante los últimos 5 años. Hemos hecho mucho durante estos años. Pero debemos ser ambiciosos. Debemos hacer más en el futuro.
Estamos sufriendo un capitalismo cada vez más salvaje, en todos los paises. Profundizan en su ofensiva neoliberal y los ataques al sindicalismo de clase. En muchos países los gobiernos “protegen” al sindicalismo amarillo y atacan sin piedad al sindicalismo de confrontación. En el País Vasco la asociación de empresarios Confebask ha buscado nuestra ILEGALIZACION. No lo han conseguido.
No nos quieren frente a ellos. Nos atacan, mientras protegen al sindicalismo de acompañamiento de Comisiones Obreras y de la UGT.
Nosotros en LAB, no estamos para gestionar la miseria que el capitalismo está generando. Confrontamos. Nos sancionan económicamente. Pero seguimos confrontando. Nos encarcelan. Pero seguimos confrontando.
Ante esta ofensiva, hoy más que nunca la clase trabajadora mundial, el movimiento sindical de clase precisa de LUCHA; INTERNACIONALISMO y UNIDAD. Debemos desarrollar estos tres conceptos en todos los continentes, en todas las regiones.
Este es el futuro…. LUCHA, INTERNACIONALISMO Y UNIDAD. Fuera de esto solo miseria.

LAB sindikatuarentzat ohore bat da Munduko Sindikatu Federazioaren 17 kongresuan egotea.
Said in my language, Euskara, it is an honour for LAB to be present at the 17th Congress of the WFTU. I want to thank all of the activists of COSATU and the WFTU who have made this Congress possible, which will be a new milestone for the unity of the working class, international solidarity and a trade unionism of confrontation at the global level.
It’s an honour to be present at this Congress, on this beautiful continent. In a heroic country, South Africa, that fought with heart and soul and strength to defeat Apartheid. The struggle has been and is a reference, a guide to the struggle in the Basque Country.
I come from a small country which continues struggling for its independence and for social justice, for liberation from all exploitation, and because we struggle we suffer repression, imprisonments and torture. At this time in the Basque Country we have 500 fighters in the prisons.
I can’t continue without recalling all of the comrades who have been imprisoned due to the struggle. Many of them wanted to be here but can’t because they are kidnapped by capital.
I want to recall Julia Amparo Lotan, of Guatemala; Huber Ballesteros of Colombia; Ruben Rialbe of Paraguay; Oscar Lopez of Puerto Rico. Nahuel and Alfons of the Spanish state, Sidil from the Mantero Trade Union of Barcelona and Andres Bodalo of the Trade Union of Workers of Andalucia.
My thoughts also for Mumia Abu Jamal and Leonard Peltier; to the prisoners of Palestine, to the fighters of the Sahara, to the Corsicans, to the Catalans.
And of course, my thoughts and salutations to the former secretary of our trade union, LAB, Rafa Diez Usabiaga, incarcerated in the prisoner of Santoña. Rafa Diez Usabiaga was a key piece in our affiliation to the WFTU. He materialized our membership in the Congress of Havana.
Comrade George Mavrikos has presented the report of the actions of the WFTU during the past five years. We have done much during these years. We have to do more in the future.
We are suffering an ever more savage capitalism, in all countries. They dig deeper in their neoliberal offensive and their attacks on class-based trade unionism. In many countries the governments “protect” yellow trade unionism and attack without mercy confrontational trade unionism. In the Basque Country, the business association, Confebask, has sought our BANNING. They haven’t achieved it.
They don’t want us in front of them. They attack us while they protect the trade unionism of accompaniment of Comisiones Obreras and the UGT.
We in LAB aren’t for managing the misery that capitalism is generating. We confront. They sanction us economically. But we continue struggling. They imprison us. But we continue struggling.
Facing this offensive, today more than ever the world working class, the class-based trade movement needs STRUGGLE; INTERNATIONALISM and UNITY. We must develop these three concepts on all continents, in all regions.
This is the future… STRUGGLE, INTERNATIONALISM and UNITY. Outside of this is only misery.
